The game could be coming in tandem with an updated console: the Nintendo Switch Pro, or ‘Super Switch’. Plus, with the previous game and its Hyrule Warriors prequel having wrapped up the Divine Beast storyline so extensively, it’d be surprising to see them be a major element yet again.
It’s fair to assume, then, that Nintendo will have absorbed this criticism, and will address it in the sequel. It made for a stark contrast to typical Zelda dungeons, which had become known for their distinctive and memorable dungeons and bosses. The two ‘dungeon-like’ areas in the game - namely, the shrines and the Divine Beasts – were hard to distinguish, and the bosses were all built around the same aesthetics. Though praise for the first game was widespread, one recurrent strand of criticism was aimed at the repetitive and samey dungeon design in the first game. As of yet, the only indication that he’ll return is a glimpse of a shadowy hand in the trailer, which rendered in the colour palette used for the villain in the original BOTW game (and which promptly set Twitter and Reddit alight).
Although – spoiler alert – the player defeats him in the final scenes of the first game, he’s also been killed in almost every entry in the Zelda series so far, meaning he’s more than likely to make a comeback. The game contains some mildly suggestive material: fairies with moderate cleavage and/or exaggerated-size breasts dialogue such as "I get to see a young hunk draw a bow again?" and "If I have to have something pounce on me, why couldn't it be a lady?" During the course of the game, a shop owner tells Link that she only serves ".drinks that are definitely just for adults." players can also encounter a drunken character that occasionally hiccups.At present, it’s unclear whether arch-villain and primary antagonist Ganondorf will be returning. One brief sequence depicts a battlefield strewn with the bodies of enemy creatures in the background, a few bodies appear to be impaled by spears. Players use swords, axes, clubs, and bows to defeat enemies that generally disappear amid puffs of smoke. As players explore the open-world environment, they can forage for materials, explore shrines, and engage in melee-style combat against fantastical creatures (e.g., goblins, skeletons, centaurs).
This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of Link on a quest to stop a growing evil in the land of Hyrule.
